Amazon AtoZ
We started with a focus on enhancing work life for millions of Amazon employees across various business lines. We were a new team imagining the future of the workforce and empowering employees to redefine the future of company employee relationships and the workforce. We created a mobile-first approach through the Ato Z app to scale our efforts. We designed and built experiences from the ground up to streamline job applications, career development, learning, flexible scheduling, and workplace safety—ensuring employees stay connected and engaged.
As the lead designer of our scheduling experience, I worked primarily with my design team, product managers, and engineers to envision how to shape our business to allow for new opportunities. The larger team included operations, site managers, and program managers from many various organizations. The new experience has led to significant improvements in workforce management, including increased shift fill rates and a reduced time to fill shifts. It has also minimized the need for associates to rely on their ‘Unpaid Time Off’ and decreased the use of Attendance points as a penalty, supporting the phase-out of these mechanisms. Additionally, the new experience has streamlined operations by reducing the manual effort required for scheduling edits, resulting in greater efficiency for the business.
